Egypt is a wonderful travel destination, My First Trip to Egypt was a wonderful adventure full of surprises and the opportunity to discover a new culture, and broaden my mind as Mark Twain stated “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” . Although I was sent by my company to Egypt more exactly Cairo, I was looking forward to learn about a new culture and explore a new world. Upon my arrival I was already amazed by the beautiful airport and the friendliness of the airport security. On the way to The Hotel I was suprised after hearing that our journey will take 2 hours due to Cairo’s heavy traffic, indeed due to this traffic it took us 3 hours in total for a journey which on the weekend will have taken us 30 minutes. We stayed in the area of Maadi, where a lot of foreign national live & where various embassies are based. Although due to work we could not visit the town during day time, we managed to go to several restaurant at night time and even visited the famous Road 9 of Maadi, where you can find various Nightclubs and restaurants. Whilst being in Cairo I observed that every restaurant did deliver at home or work, even Mc Donalds did! which was a big surprise for me, as in Europe, McDonalds does not do free delivery. On Friday as it was the start of the weekend in Egypt (the normal week day being from Sunday to Thursday as opposed to Monday to Friday in Christian countries).  Where we managed to go to an Restaurant serving Egyptian food, then on we went on to Al-Hussein where we visited the Market, and saw the Mosque. On the Saturday we went on to visit the Giza Pyramids, one of the must see when anyone come to Egypt, one of the 7 Ancient wonders in the world. One the afternoon coming back to Germany, was a sad event after meeting wonderful people, learning about a new culture. The only thing in my mind right now is to go back to Egypt soon.  Although according to this article from the worltribune.com it has become a dangerous place for tourists, I’ll like to continue visiting this wonderful country. My first trip to Egypt (And not my last one!)
