  1. Arrange some weekend away from town

Trying to get away from the stresses of everyday life is important. A weekend at a hotel near downtown with your partner may be just what you need! You can spend time together without distractions, reconnecting and reestablishing intimacy that might have diminished over time.

  2. Dress up in order to impress your partner

Dress nicely for each other, refresh your wardrobe as if you were dating for the first time. Remember how excited and daring you felt when dressing up during those early dates? Imagine what it would be like with this excitement once again! Your spouse will appreciate a good effort on your part, so make sure that they see something new from day-to-day by simply updating or changing some of their outfit pieces such as belts and scarves.

  3. Do something special for your partner every day.

Remember the text messages, emails and flowers you used to send? remember how happy they were when they saw them? Well if those good times are over bring them back by doing things out of the blue like sending a flower or buying some little gifts from time-to-time. It will make sure that complacency never replaces excitement in your relationship

  4. Take a look at your old photos

It might be a good idea to take an old photo album down from the shelf and flip through it together. You’ll likely find some pictures of you both when were younger, looking happy – maybe even smiling at one another! Maybe this will remind us that we used to do more things together as friends or partners.

Or: I know why you’re feeling frustrated right now—it’s because you feel like your partner doesn’t care about what matters most in life anymore? It sounds like they’ve forgotten how much fun activities can be if we try them out again with fresh eyes and enthusiasm for our friendship or relationship.

  5. Have a discussion about it

It could help both of you realise how complacent your relationship has become and what needs to be done in order for things to work out well between the two of us. In long-term relationships, there is always some spark missing – as time progresses; we get more busy at work or other problems arise outside our partnership which are taking up all our energy so before this happens I would like to make sure that my partner’s happiness comes first in my life by not allowing any form of complacency enter into our marriage/relationship
